Introducing AR Learning, a set of Augmented Reality learning resources that bring investigative, interactive and independent learning to life!

Augmented Reality (AR) combines the real world with virtual content using webcam and printed 'markers', providing new interactions and insights for learners.

What you'll need to use the AR Learning resources:

  • Flash player 10 (or higher)
  • Printer (to print the associated markers)
  • A good quality webcam and microphone
  • Minimum system requirements: Win XP or Mac OS X 10.5, 2.4 Ghz Processor, 3GB RAM)

About AR Learning

The AR Learning resources consist of ten Science-based activities that use the power of augmented reality (AR) to bring Science to life using interactive 3D virtual models.

Each activity contains a worksheet that provides a context for the activity, guidance on how to carry out the experiment and instructions on what data to collect. There are also going further activities helping pupils to extend the knowledge gained.

There are more than 20 Augmented Reality models to explore.

The resources have been developed by Tintisha Technologies. (

Note: A learnAR™ Starter pack is available from SSAT (The Schools Network) Ltd. The pack consists of ten resources that showcase applications across different subject areas. For latest details about this resource contact

The ten activities in the AR Learning Science Pack are drawn from Chemistry, Physics and Biology and include:

Polymerisation Catalytic convertors
Hydrogen and Oxygen reaction

Biology: Organs

This example of Augmented Reality (developed by SSAT) allows you to 'see' your internal organs.

To view the example you will need to:

  • connect a webcam to your computer.
  • ensure the Flash player is installed on your computer
  • download and print the special marker. [Click here to download the marker]

To view your organs hold the special marker in front of your chest, in full view of the webcam.

This resource is one of the ten activities available in the learnAR™ Starter pack which is available from SSAT (The Schools Network) Ltd.

Educational institutions can purchase 30 or 50 seat licenses of the AR Learning Science Pack through our official software reseller

The purchasing organisation will be supplied with user codes via email, which allow online access to the AR Learning Science Pack resources (including worksheets and printable markers).

The resources can be accessed around the clock, and there are no restrictions on the number of times they can be accessed. The user codes can therefore be used by several classes during a year.

AR Learning licences can be purchased via the website, which also contains information about current pricing.
